This opportunist Seagull came joined me and my family for lunch one day in Stonehaven, Aberdeenshire. It did have the manners to wait until we finished before hovering down to sit on our table. its expression had as laughing with an almost innocent look.

Balmedie is a flat sandy beach with sand dunes to the rear of the beach. Its is well known for its sand dunes, wooded areas, connected by a series of paths and boardwalks.

Trees have so much to offer us all, they are very therapeutic and really do have healing powers releasing antimicrobial essential oils called phytoncides the protect trees from germs. We found during lockdown it was calming and great to walk in the woods, the oils boost mood and immune systems function, reduce blood pressure, heart rate, stress, anxiety and confusion, improve sleep and creativity and may even fight cancer and depression. they are truly amazing. The rainforests are so important to the planet another fact which is emerging more and more during the push for climate change.

Puffin Kiss

This painting comes with a great story. I was brought up in a village on the outskirts of Aberdeen where its a close knit community. I was commissioned to do a puffin painting by a lovely gent from the same village, who is now in Cumbernauld and whom I hadn’t seen since school days, he wanted to send the painting to a lovely lady also from the same village but now lives in New Zealand, Turns out they dated in their teenage days and the painting was to arrive on the day of their 1st anniversary, of the date they got together on the phone. This was 49 years after they dated! How romantic is that!!

I am so pleased to be a small part of their story. They’re a lovely couple! They are both happy to share the painting and their story, so its now available as a print. It always makes me smile when I see it.
