I started painting almost twenty years ago and in that time I have learned so much, I have grown on my own and with groups of like minded people who have helped me on this amazing journey.
I am a contemporary Scottish Artist working initially in oils for many years but moved onto using many other mediums including Watercolours, Pastels, Charcoal, and most recently Oil Pencils. I also did a two year stint with ceramics.
I moved to Dubai in 2005 and quickly after that to Doha, Qatar where I attended my first Art Class in 2008 which I loved so much, I quickly realised I was totally hooked. Since then I have studied with some amazing artists, never being far from an art class or group. In 2015 I joined the most enthusiastic group ever in Ras Al Khaimah and gained so much knowledge in paint mediums and techniques along with exhibition work and setting up exhibitions to some extent. We are still in touch even though it’s original members are now based all over the world, a unique group of wonderful people.
I began veering towards animals after painting Khan the Bengal cat and Koco the King Charles Spaniel. It had an appeal as it gave me great joy to witness the importance from the owners having a memory to keep of their pets who are often no longer with them. This along with being a lifelong animal lover made it a track I was happy to continue along.
My other passion is birds, flowers and anything vintage.
Although specialising in pet portraits, I have experience of painting a range of subject matter and am open to discussing commissions of all types. My Commissions Page show some of the commissions I have painted so far. I have my work showing in a few places now and also participate in various exhibitions, art fairs and pop-up shops around Aberdeenshire.
